The East San Gabriel Valley Coalition for the Homeless
is an interfaith coalition of volunteers, incorporated in 1994 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The Coalition works with public agencies, private organizations, foundations, and ecumenical groups in the community to serve the needs of the homeless and those at risk of homelessness.
Best known for the Winter Shelter Program; The Coalition operates shelters from December 1st thru March 15th for a two-week period at seven different local churches. These churches have generously partnered with our organization to host the shelters so adults and children can have a safe and warm haven during the winter. We serve approximately 35 cities in the East San Gabriel Valley area which include Azusa, Baldwin Park, Covina, Glendora, Hacienda Heights, La Puente , Montebello, Rowland Heights, and West Covina.
The Coalition coordinates the thousands of volunteers who provide the food, clothing and other supplies. Our organization oversees the various services: the portable showers, case management, health care clinic, mental health counseling, and referrals to all social service agencies.
